Full Job Description:

The Minnesota Turkey Growers Association (MTGA) Program Director leads, develops, and executes communications, marketing, and events across MTGA and its related entities to provide a strong voice and world-class programming for Minnesota’s Turkey Industry.

Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities include: Develop agendas and marketing for MTGA events (MTGA Summer Summit, Regional Meetings, producer education, and consumer-facing events like the Minnesota State Fair.), develop and implement communications and marketing strategies for MTGA and its related entities, manage digital content development and design, manage all social media platforms, collaborate among staff with news media inquiries, press release preparation, and news media relationships, collaborate among staff in the production of print and digital efforts - including but not limited to editorial content for Gobbles magazine and WingTips newsletter, establish and maintain processes, systems, and workflows to ensure a cohesive operation between different departments within MTGA, annually develop a communications and events budget, and play an active role in membership recruitment and retention.

Experience Needed / Suggested:

Qualifications include: Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and attention to detail, ability to multi-task, work cooperatively with others, and manage projects, experience building and maintaining processes and systems to support communications, events, and marketing efforts, experience developing and implementing digital marketing efforts and social media content with reportable analytics, and 3-5 years of communications and/or event planning experience. Bonus Skills include: Understanding of state and national policy processes, experience with check-off programs, and poultry industry knowledge.
