Jake Vlaminck entered the turkey industry when his father-in-law, Doug Gorans, decided to form a separate operation from his cousins at Gorans Brothers Incorporated. As with any business transition, the process took a lot of time and discussion with accountants, attorneys, and consultants.
The new operation began September 9, 2016 and became Fahlun Farms - pronounced FALLEN - named after the township where the farm rests. It is also the name of a city in Sweden.
Jake and his wife, Stacey, love spending time with their adult children - Sadie, Drake, and Kaylee. They recently purchased a pontoon and are trying to spend as much time on the water together as possible. Jake also enjoys curling in the winter and is a member of Glacial Ridge Curling in Willmar, where he sits on the Board of Directors.
